Hargreaves Stuns Soft Arsenal

Manchester United 2-1 Arsenal

A stunning free-kick from Owen Hargreaves saw Manchester United come from behind to beat Arsenal, and stamp their authority on the Premier League title race.

Hargreaves Stuns Soft Arsenal

Arsenal took the lead against Chelsea a few weeks ago and blew it. They went ahead against Liverpool earlier this week and blew it. And on form, they took the lead against Manchester United at Old Trafford and hit the self destruct button.

Emmanuel Adebayor gave the Gunners the lead, and moments later, Cristiano Ronaldo converted from the spot after William Gallas handled in the area.

With the scores level, it was anyone's game, but United showed the determination of champions, breaking through thanks to a fabulous Owen Hargreaves free-kick.

The result takes them a massive nine clear of Arsenal with four games remaining, and six clear of Chelsea, who have a game in hand. They can now win the title with two games to spare if they win their next two games.

First Half

Arsenal started the match brightly, anxious to put the misery of midweek behind them. A fast and furious opening saw them take control of the match and dominate possession.

After only five minutes Fabregas had a good chance after an awful clearance from Brown fell straight to his feet. Unfortunately for Arsenal the young Spaniard blasted his shot straight over Van der Sar’s bar.

The chances kept falling Arsenal’s way and in particular Emmanuel Adebayor who missed a number of opportunities to open the scoring for Arsenal. Firstly Eboue crossed for the tall striker but Rio Ferdinand managed to get back just in time to make an important block.

Just after the half hour mark it was Hleb’s turn to put Adebayor through. The Togolese strike raced into the penalty area but shot weakly at Van der Sar who saved easily.

Within seconds, United broke and the action was at the other end of the field. Wayne Rooney in acres of space tried to dink the ball past Lehman but the German goalkeeper just managed to get enough on the ball to divert it wide.

At this point Arsenal were playing with a huge amount of confidence, first to the ball and forcing the home side into mistakes as they threw bodies forward searching for the opening. United by contrast were being forced to play on the counter attack, an unusual sight at Old Trafford.

However despite the Gunners’ dominance their fragility at the back was still evident with United finding space between Kolo Toure and Alex Song and Wayne Rooney, in particular, looking the most likely for the home side.

As it was, a fast and furious first half ended goalless. Arsenal somehow contriving not to finish one of the numerous openings they had carved open and United, simply happy to get to half time still level.

Second Half

It did, however, take Arsenal only three second-half minutes to take the lead. United failed to clear a Van Persie free kick and the Dutchman ran across the pitch to pick up the loose ball before dropping in a great cross which Adebayor managed to convert from only one yard after both Ferdinand and Van der Sar failed to clear the ball effectively.

Seconds later and United should have been two down. Rio Ferdinand, whilst trying to clear the ball somehow diverted the ball towards own goal forcing Van der Sar into a great save to keep United in the game.

Minutes later however and the game was level. A Carrick shot was blocked in the area by William Gallas’ arm and referee Howard Webb had no choice but to point to the spot.

The drama didn’t end there however. Ronaldo scored the penalty but was ordered to retake it after stopping half way through his run up which meant a number of players encroaching before he had finally slotted the ball away. However the Portuguese kept his cool to score second time around, slotting the ball low to Lehman’s right.

Alex Ferguson responded further by throwing on Anderson and Tevez for Scholes and Park and slowly United began to get a foothold in the game before eventually taking the lead with twenty minutes to go.

Gilberto Silva gave away a free kick on the edge of the area and despite Ronaldo looking interested, Owen Hargreaves stepped up to plant a brilliant free kick over the wall and down into Lehman’s bottom right hand corner.

Arsenal tried to get back on level terms but as has happened so often this season they were unable to make their chances count and they will rue yet another lost lead. United hung on for an important victory that takes them one step closer to the title.

Rewrite academic essay !

Since the war ended in 1975, the economics development of Vietnam has increased without tending to stop. Unfortunately, the more the economy expands, the more environmental problems appear. They are air pollution, water pollution, etc. In this essay, I want to describe the most serious problem, air pollution, and suggest some possible engineering solutions for such a problem.

The air pollution is the gravest problem that Vietnamese government faced for over 20 years. This problem is mainly caused by a rapid rise in Vietnam's population. Undoubtedly, the fast increase in population leads to the unimaginable rise in means of transportation as well as industrial zones, which are two core factors causing air pollution.

Firstly, one case of air pollution is motor vehicles One example of the huge number of vehicles is, Mr. Hiep (1996), an environmental researcher, stated that , "Ho Chi Minh, the biggest city of Vietnam, had more than 1.1 million of which motor cycles was more than 1 million". Each month, there are more than 1,000 added to the city traffic, which means that there should be over 1.3 million means of transportation since 1996 up to now. Moreover, according to Hoang Hai Van, a managing editor of the The Youth newspaper, (n.d), the fuel mainly used in vehicles of Vietnam is not refined fuel, which is the heart of air pollution problem. As a result, it is easy to understand when most of the people travelling by motorbikes in Ho Chi Minh city have to wear specialized comforter in order to protect themselves from dangerous smoke discarded from nearby vehicles.

Another cause of air pollution is the quick development in industrial zones. Even Camau, a small southern province, which has 3 more industrial Zones (VNA,March, 2008), is an instance of the quick development of industrial zones. The growth in the number of industrial zones corelates to the growth in the number of factories, which means that there are more risks in air pollution. Mr. Hiep argued again that "the total emission of pollutants to the air-shed due to fuel consumption of all industries each year is 30,000 tons of SO2, 5,750 tons of NO2 and 1,650 tons of particulates. In addition, a total of metallurgy industries produce between 2,840 to 4,260 tons of particulates and between 994 to 1,420 tons of CO per year. Obviously, SO2,NO2 and CO are toxic gases, which are very harmful for the air-shed as well as people's health". Research about the health effects of air pollution is that a person living in polluted cities such as Ho Chi Minh city may have lung cancer at 56% a higher rate than normal one (Mr. Sang, February 2007). Clearly, to live in a polluted city like Ho Chi Minh is obviously dangerous.

As an engineer in the future, I think that there are three possible engineering solutions for air pollution. First of all, this is the method of producing filters for elimination pipes of factories and means of transport. As a consequence, most discarded dangerous smoke would be well treated, with the purpose not affecting the pollution, before going to the air. Secondly, the replacement of not refined fuel by refined one is considerable. A last but not least possible solution is the replacement of fuel-transports by electrical means, which nearly do not affect the air-shed.

To conclude, the air pollution is certainly the most dangerous problem, which not only Vietnam but also many developing countries all over the world will be facing . Actually, there are two main causes: the fast increase in transports as well as industrial zones, of air pollution. The filters produce for elimination pipes, replacement of low-quality and fuel-transports by high-quality and electrical means, respectively, are three possible engineering solutions for such problem.

Rewrite timed paragraph

There are many waste disposal schemes such as zero waste, land-filling, incinerators and so on. In this essay, zero waste and land-filling will be compared and contrasted. There are three reasons why Vietnam should replace land-filling by zero waste for the future.

Firstly, land-filling is a method for final disposal of solid waste on land. As a result, Vietnam has wasted a lot of helpful lands in order to store the rubbish. Otherwise, zero waste is used to promote positive alternatives to land-filling and reduce dramatically incinerations. Second of all, people, who prefer the land-filling, may have a health risk, because the land-filling causes many organic wastes. On the contrary, people, who have the zero waste as the first choice, might have no health risk due to no organic wastes in zero waste. That might be the major reason why the councils have to separate "organics, dry recyclables such as bottles and plastics, and tricky residuals such as batteries". Therefore, with the purpose of achieving good health, Vietnam should use zero waste instead of land-filling. Finally, the materials of the land-filling is variable, while the ones of the other must be repaired, reused and recycled. Thus, the materials, which do not satisfy these requirements, are designed out of the system. In addition, it is definitely difficult to replace the whole land-filling systems by the zero waste one for a short time. However, it might save much money because of no waste of zero waste when it is already replaced land-filling by zero waste.

To recapitulate, there may be a lot of advantages of using zero waste. The most meaningful advantage is that the benefits for health and job will be enormous. In my opinion, Vietnam should replace land-filling by zero waste in the near future.

Is computerization of industry always a good thing ?

In many factories and offices, people are losing their jobs because computers are now being used to do the work that people once did.

The global economy has been developing day by day as a result of technological growth, especially in the field of computerization. In fact, the computerization industry often benefits positively to industrialized factories in specific and social development in general. First of all, industrial computerization has resulted in an improvement in the quality and quantity of products. As a consequence, the factories which apply technology are often able to receive more profit from wealthy investors. Furthermore, costumers are extremely encouraged to buy quality products, so these factories have a lucky chance to expand their products to foreign countries. Secondly, the computerization of industry is, perhaps, a good method to decline works accidents. Employees often feel completely comfortable and safe when they use machines to do their job. Most workers, for example, believe that using technology in industry is not also safe for them but also very effective.

Describe a serious environmental problem that exists in your home country today and explain how there could be an engineering solution to it ?

Since the war was finished, the development of economics of Vietnam has increased without tending to stop. However , the more economics expands , the more environmental problems appear. They are air pollution, water pollution etc. In this paragraph, this writer wants to describe the air pollution, which is one of the gravest problem Vietnam’s government have faced for over 20 years, as well as explain an engineering solution. Actually, there is a rapid rise in the population of my country, so that the enormous increasing numbers of means of transportation and industrial zones were predicted is easy to understand. One example of increasing numbers of industrial zones in Vietnam is that in 2007 Ho Chi Minh, the biggest city in Vietnam, had two more districts in the suburbs which leads to the appearances of many industrial zones. Another instance for the rapid rise in vehicles is, according to Mr Nguyen .D.H. (2006), environmental researcher, approximately 200,000 tons of petrol fuel and 190,000 tons of diesel are consumed each year. They are definitely impressive numbers which prove a fast economics development as well as a serious pollution in Vietnam. As an engineer in the future, the writer thinks that there is one possible engineering solution for such horrible problem. That is the method of producing filters for elimination pipes of factories and means of transport.

What are some potential negative effects that climate change could have on your country or the world as a whole?

In the past 20 years, the climate has changed so much mostly caused by serious pollution. It is an indispensable effect as there are large increases in the industrial zones as well as means of transport and unpredictable decrease in the area of forests. As a result, a lot of potential negative effects, mostly due to climate change, appear. First of all, the effects on weather are actually dangerous which effect s directly to the lives of people. The most serious consequence effecting on the weather is the increasing in temperature, which tends to rise rapidly in the near future. According to Wikipedia, over the last 50 years, the temperature in the southern part of the Arctic region (home to 4,000,000 people) has increased 1 °C to 3 °C (1.8 °F to 5.4 °F). Moreover, the climate change will lead to an under-estimated development in economics of some countries. Mr Stephen Mwakifwamba, national co-ordinator of the Centre for Energy, Environment, Science and Technology argued that the climate is far less predictable and we might have floods in May or droughts every three years. In addition, the rains come at the wrong time for farmers and it is leading to many problems. As a result, there will be more unsuccessful harvest in the near future.

About Manchester United, one part of my life

I am a MU fan and I often log in to MU fan club website. This is one of my friend favorite post and I want to share with you !

Honey, have you ever thought that there are a lot of differences between us? To me, sometimes, I wonder why we can love each other when we have no same characteristic.

I love soccer but you don’t. You are always not pleased when I talk about soccer. You force me to be interested in fashion, in which you are expert ... I have tried, however I often just an old-fashioned guy in your eyes. I am sure that you have the same feeling when I talk passionately about soccer, am I right?

I did think that you would rather be fan of Arsenal – the enemy of my Red Devil, than you do not know anything about soccer and often ask me something like : ”Why can the goalkeeper use hands”...

By chance, I took part in one MU forum from Vietnam and have spent a lot of time, which made you sad and disappointed. I am sure that you can’t understand why I can indulge in a soccer club which you and I just know on TV...

“Which do you choose between Red Devil and I?”

I imagined one day you ask me this question. If I choose you, Red Devil seems not to change, because there are more than 330 millions of MU fans all over the world like me, who think MU is one part of their lives, which is something that is close and can’t be explained.

But if I choose Red Devil but not you, I am sure that I am not happy, because I need someone to share and be with to overcome all obstacles in such difficult life. Your love may make me happier than anything.

Please do not ask such question, because I can’t give you my answer which can not only satisfy you but also my true feeling.
Why don’t you try to discover soccer? No one knows one day you love Red Devil more than I do and it is my turn to be jealous.

Please try one time, honey! However, after that you like Arsenal. Anyway, we have one more same favorite. If you like me to “study” about fashion and shopping to become an expert like you, I will do. The reason is simple, because I love you ^^
